A Brief History

"I'm James, a web designer, frontend developer, and writer, living in the English countryside with my wife, and our dog Oscar"

Well, I'm actually a bit of a digital all-rounder really. I design and code websites, iOS applications, email campaigns, and I can also animate. When I'm not doing any of those things I can regularly be found writing for .Net Magazine, speaking at the odd event, or helping out at The House Gallery, which my wife and I opened six years ago.

Way back in 1998

My love for the web started in the late nineties after I was given a free 'guide to the internet' with my first bank account. The book taught me the basics of coding HTML, which I quickly became fascinated with. It wasn't long before I started to combine my love of graphic design with programming.

2003 – 2006

I graduated from UCA back in 2006 with a first-class degree in digital media. After a brief spell writing for a leading publisher, I was hired as a digital designer for a multidisciplinary agency and haven't looked back.

2007 – 2014

I've now designed and developed for the likes of BBC Worldwide, Samsung, VW, and lots of other lovely people.
